The Old Lodge, Minchinhampton Common

We had a meal here last night and felt it had really gone downhill since our last visit before christmas. Although they have a 2 for one deal on with vouchers on main courses in the week the food was very expensive for what it was - over �9 for a plate of spinach and ricotta tortellini that had no garnish hardly any sauce and seemed to be identical to that you can buy at a supermarket - definatel not home made. The Eton mess wasn't Eton mess at all - peculiar tubes of meringue with a yoghurt like sauce. We were quite sad as we like the atmosphere in this place . Now it isn't really a pub and it certainly isn't a good restaurant.

Coalbrookdale Inn, Coalbrookdale

What a lovely,friendly pub. Enjoyed an excellent lunch in the restaurant - good choice for veggies too and super puds. The bar seemed to be very convivial and we will certainly be returning

The Halfway House, Box

Friendly landlord and charming bar staff, Smiles, Bath Ales and real cider, good decor and super food - even for veggies, highly recommended, just a pity the fire wasn't lit at lunchtime.
