The Boatman, Guildford

Pub is nice, great location. Beer OK (GK IPA and Abbot, Staropramen, other usual). Wine iffy (house white a bit gut rot, have some other better ones). Has pretensions to be a gastropub, but need to improve the food to justify the overinflated prices - or bring the prices down. Had a burger & wedges which was perfectly nice but not worth �9, and that was about the cheapest thing on the bar menu.

The Cricketers, Guildford

Beer OK, usually have some kind of real ale, food OK, has a good sized beer garden which is nice in summer.
