Fleece Inn, Dolphinholme

You can ignore the previous comments about poor service and food. The tennants who were responsible for that have gone and there is a new landlord and landlady (Glyn & Caroline) and despite being there less than 3 months, they have already turned the Fleece Inn around. The real ales are well kept and presented, the food is excellent and very plentiful. The service is great. We both had one of the best steaks we've had in a long time. Tender and perfectly cooked, my wife's well done (but not cremated) and mine medium. Breakfasts were also delicious and huge!

The rooms are well appointed and comfortable, with character. However, you need to understand that this is an inn and not a hotel. You WILL hear noise from the bar below until the customers leave, but that is normal when you stay in an inn!

Glyn and Caroline even offer a free pick up and drop off service for the locals so that they can enjoy a night out in the pub without having to worry about drinking and driving! How god is that?

We will most definitely be back to stay again!!
