The Red Lion, Fernhurst

Friendly enough staff with an absolutely fantastic village green location this pub is excellent until you order food. The meat in particular was overcooked and dry on every dish we ordered and the dessert - treacle tart microwaved to within an inch of its life - was dismal. To be fair they gave us our desert for free but we didn't appreciate being told that "every one else loves it" when we complained about a banoffee pie which contained bananas so over-ripe they were fermenting hidden under mounds of bad canned cream.
