The Crabtree, Hammersmith

Have done a nice job of doing it up. Had a roast there on Sunday - portions small and meat was dry - we were early to eat too so later portions must have been like cardboard. Not cheap either at �13. Good selection of beers. Staff could do with cheering-up. Effecient service but certainly not with a smile! Has a garden for when the sun shines but no river view. Not a pub you need to go out of your way for.

The Mitre, Fulham

I still think this is the best pub in Fulham by a distance. Judging by the crowds that still flock to it most days of the week I guess I'm not the only one to think so. Beer prices are in line with the rest of the area although I don't think price is really a consideration for the type of people it attracts. The female count is always high - my girfriend puts that down to the fact that it doesn't show football, a good wine list and friendly staff. The food is very acceptable and certainly holds its own with other pubs/restaurants in the area. The staff tend to be very good and attentive - I think because the manager owns the place and is there every night. It has a garden that is obviously very popular in the summer so get there early if you want a table. While it's busy most nights of the week, people tend to go there weekdays to eat and relax and party more on Fridays and Saturdays. Highly recommended!
