The new owners of the Mitre Pub are chasing away the locals in droves with their new Shisha water pipe lounge. What used to be a good neighbourhood pub is now attracting a rather peculiar bearded clientele and the atmosphere has changed almost overnight. This used to be a friendly local pub but the place now has a pretty unpleasant feel to it. Unfortunately, it appears that the new owners have taken a good local pub and essentially ruined it. roberto_incognito - 3 Mar 2015 10:02 |
Inoffensive pub with somewhat boring dcor in the typical modern style which so many pubs go for these days. Plenty of space though so easy to get a table after a match at nearby Chelsea FC. They have a couple of ales and ciders. Nothing exciting. I get the feeling they are trying not to offend anybody by doing anything different. Friendly enough staff and good service. The sort of pub you'd find a delegation of New Labour policy makers. Richard_ReadingFC - 23 Aug 2012 18:25 |
RUBBISH, EXPENSIVE, PRETENTIOUS........always has been! thepubcritic - 8 Feb 2011 00:44 |
I would genuinely like to get really excited about this pub because it does little wrong. The beer is well looked after, the food is generally good and the staff are always helpful but it still lacks something to make me want to go back time and again. If you visit this pub I doubt you'll be disappointed but equally you may not be overwhelmed either. It might be just one of those pubs that fairs better in the summer than the winter - its does have a nice garden area, making it one of the few pubs in the area to comfortably drink outside on warm days and nights. Good pub, civilised. Great garden and good beer selection. Reasonable food, but no gastropub. Well worth a visit. MrBlue - 29 Apr 2009 17:47 |
