Fleece Inn, Dolphinholme

Having been recommended this pub by a good friend, we were disappointed to discover that there were two classes of customer service. One for the regular stand alone meals, and one for the "specials". My friend had previously been surprised by the quantity and quality of the food she received on her visit. However, when the same meal was ordered as part of a "special" (3 courses for the price of one - on a much reduced menu), the meal was considerably downsized (4 chips - I kid you not!!!!) and when asked why there was only four chips and no apple but just a small pile of stodge for the crumble, the owner Terry replied "I don't actually care", stating that the special menu was a bargain and therefore we should not be expecting the same portions or quality. This was in no way indicated on the menu or when ordering. It would not have been so bad if there had been any semblance of polite acknowledgement of our complaint, however, the rudeness simply added insult to injury. If you want a proper dinner dont order the special!
