The Anchor, Bookham

Small and charming, a pub with real locals!... but outragesously stuffy and smokey in winter... supposed to have an extraction system but doesn't work.
Minimal selection of real ale nowadays.
Good, well kept garden at the front for the summer.

Ye Olde Windsor Castle, Bookham

This is our local, since it is the only walkable pub with a non-smoking area.. Actually, the non-smoking area is now about 80% of the place so thumbs up on that one.

Recently started doing guest ales again. Food is patchy and very over-priced. Vegetarian selection is abominable.

Big gripe with all Chef and Brewer pubs is the ordering system which takes ages for everyone... always big queues to get anything.

Otherwise, vaguely friendly staff.

The Plough, Effingham

More of a restaurant really. Excellent food and friendly staff. Only way to get a table at weekends is to book in advance!
Non-smoking area is too small for my liking tho.
