Called in last Saturday afternoon and asked for the menu whilst ordering a pint of Hyde's Saint George. Upon being told that the pint was 3.20 (or possibly 3.25) I suddenly lost my appetite. Some of the meals were reasonably priced but not if one were to choose to have a couple of pints to "wash it down"! There is a stupid sign at the front door saying use the rear entrance yet there are tables out the front - are you supposed to circumnavigate the pub every time you want to go to the bar/toilets?
I then carried on walking about a mile to the Hanging Gate at Sutton and the exact same beer was 2.75 (yes 50p cheaper!) This was a much nicer pub too with fantastic views from the rear beer garden and excellent food.

Went to this pub on the opening day of the week-long supposed "Beer Festival" and was astounded to find that the list of beers on the blackboard were to be served one at a time until it had gone and then be replaced by the next on the list. As there was only half a dozen people in on a Festival Saturday afternoon then it would probably take a month before any one person could sample the whole list. A single rotating guest beer does not a festival make!
The surly landlady and landlord did not exactly exude friendliness either. The first and definitely last visit we will be making.
