Bears Head, Penarth

Very much an 'oldies' pub before 4.30 ish. Civilised, and not noisy.

Good, well priced food. Ales always on form, and rotating guest beers. Most last three days, then there's a new keg on, from another (often local) brewery.
Probably only using 9 gallon casks, or maybe 5s.

Not as dark and gloomy as most Wetherspoons.

Toilets always immaculate.

I'm 58, and I'd take my mother there if she liked pubs.

No idea what it's like in the nights.

The Albion, Penarth

Can't vouch for it now.
Haven't visited since the previous landlady left in June 09. (Personal friend)

Apparently now run by someone from the Royal Oak in Cardiff. Serious pedigree!
