| Very much an 'oldies' pub before 4.30 ish. Civilised, and not noisy. Good, well priced food. Ales always on form, and rotating guest beers. Most last three days, then there's a new keg on, from another (often local) brewery. Probably only using 9 gallon casks, or maybe 5s. Not as dark and gloomy as most Wetherspoons. Toilets always immaculate. I'm 58, and I'd take my mother there if she liked pubs. No idea what it's like in the nights. davedobro - 28 Mar 2010 23:58 |
| Very acceptable lunch stop. Brains & Bullmastiff local beers on. Tried the Brains SA Gold & Bullmastiff Gold, both in good condition if served a little cold. What seemed to be the regular retired crowd in , but you can't blame them can you? Leicesterbeer - 15 May 2009 08:28 |

| Visited on FA Cup final day at 2.30pm. Football wasn't overly loud on the telly even considering the occasion(Cardiff in final.) Service was good in spite of the throng. In the GBG(not always much of a recommendation!) but the ale was good. There was a "scratch"(beer-tickers terminology) on for the match called Bluebird Bitter,the friendly barman didn't know who brewed it but it was thought to be from Bullmastiff,whose other ales graced 3 more of the pumps. Evan evans,Brains and the usual spoons cooking ales were also available. The obligatory �2.99 voucher Lasagne was good. The khazis "needed work".
