The Bell, Standlake

The Bell in Standlake now appears to have been bought out by the owners of the Boot in Barnards Gate up the road. And no looks like it's a free house rather than a Greene King, which is hopefully a good thing - reopens in Aug '09 according to the sign outside...

The Black Boy, Headington

This got an award recently I believe. Don't know how - last time I was in there (2005) it was pretty empty - intimidating atmosphere of a few locals by the bar and felt quite out of place. Beer was pretty poor too - maybe we just went on a bad night?
