The Stanley Arms, Huyton

Unfortunately, John and Debbie have moved on from the Stanley and the standard of cask beer has moved downward. Now limited in choice to Marstons EPA and Worthingtons it's hardly worth a visit. Atmosphere has changed and it's a real shame. Not what it used to be. Hope it improves with it's new Manager - Good luck to him.

The Stanley Arms, Huyton

The Stanley has changed Managers since these previous reviews. It is now run by John and Debbie who have many years experience doing just that. It is now an M&B Sizzler. The food is served hot and extremely efficiently by a team of young and enegetic waiting staff. Also, it is so inexpensive it is such a bargain and therefore extremely popular.
Now onto the Beer! There are three casks on at any one time. John is expert at conditioning them so expect a really top class pint. If proof is needed 'Cask Marque' have recently audited here and credited with a 100% pass. Cains, Hancocks HB and Marstons EPA are common, almost regulars. There are also the usual Smoothflows, Lagers and Ciders available from the two bar areas.
I visit this pub late afternoon so I'm not referring to Friday and Saturday nights here, but this is a well run pub, nice and quiet, very welcoming and well worth a visit if you're in the area
