St George Public House, Swansea

Very sad to hear the licensees have just left - such a pity as they really bought some high standards and excellent food to this place.

I hear there's a 21 year old taking over. I could be wrong, but it means I unfortunately don't hold out much hope for the place in the foreseeable future - another kidz pub with loud music looms...

All the best in your next venture Mike and Vanessa - you will be missed.

The Schooner, Swansea

Well I don't know what's happened to it since the reviews below were given, but it seems to have turned into a backdrop from the film 'Deliverance'! We went there on the strength of the previous reviews and were greeted by those kind of slightly aggressive and leery locals which tell you this is a pub going to the dogs. We felt very unwelcome - like we were an object of curiosity and suspicion. They want to watch the fact they've got those same locals lighting up inside the pub too. Not nice.

Nags Head On The Thames, Abingdon

Its obviously a chain pub, but a very nice place to spend a weekend afternoon (especially during the six nations - we were able to watch all the matches in great comfort!) Nice landlord and staff.
