Not much more to add, other than the HSB seemed good and the staff were all very friendly and courteous. We did stay for a meal, the Kitchen reopening at 6pm on a Sunday. The panfried mullet was well delicious though a modest portion, but came with generous amounts of roast vegetables. At 12.50 it was perhaps a little pricey, but far better than your average pub fayre. Great location next to the river too.

Went here yesterday, after perusing most of the other pubs in the centre of town it seemed like the best bet. The barman confirmed (well he would) that it was 'the last real pub in Chichester'. Had two quick pints of very well-kept Sussex outside on the picnic tables given the gorgeous weather. The interior seemed comfortable, with old floorboards and just a few tables and chairs in the two bar areas at the front and a restaurant area at the back. The gents upstairs were not as pleasant, and needed a bit of work. Otherwise a really nice place to stop for a pint.

Lovely place. Took a bunch of friends here last night and had great service from Jason the publican. The Fullers IPA was very good, they run a selection of decent strong lagers too. The chef happily knocked up a few bowls of scampi, whitebait, fries etc. for us rather than insisting that we choose main meals from the menu. Well stocked jukebox which was free last night, and we weren't kicked out til midnight. Bonus
Extremely happy that I chose to come here rather than deal with the snooty staff and spend-pressure that I got from a certain organic pub on nearby St.Peters street.
