What a great find due to BITE. Visited yesterday enroute from Hurley. If you want to quibble the pub is not quite in Hurley and if you are walking best to come from Knowl Hill.
Well kept Brakspears and food looked good. Selection of newspapers and The Economist for more financially aware drinkers.
On my list for Winter Walking pubs. Im bored by The Pot Kiln.

Visiting Tate Britain and getting a bus at Vauxhall [No36 to Paddington if you intend to visit pub] and I saw an article for this place at the grittier end of Lambeth Walk Not kidding! Just walk through the park. However, that is another story.
German Beer choice immense. However, now at 3.80 which is rather steep and probably unnecessary. Food came in cheaper and was very good.
Pub empty at one oclock on Tuesday lunchtime although next pub towards the river was packed with office workers.
Staff needs an injection of humour. All rather dour. Will try it again but disturbed by those beer prices.

I visited this pub on a Friday lunchtime as I was visiting the area. I did my research and their website – hosted by John Barras Pubs –and it had a cheap and varied menu.
However despite the website and food promotion posters – there was no food. We don’t do it and haven’t for ‘ for several weeks’ When I pointed out the promotions and the web site they said ‘oh that’s head office’s job.’
They struggled so much with the Doombar then said ‘End of the barrel’ although I heard them say to each other ‘ its just been put on’. So I don’t know what's happening there.
So I gave up and , God forbid, had a cold lager. All in all a wasted experience. Probably only suited for playing pool and watching sport.
