The Griffin Hotel, Heaton Mersey

The Griffin used to a model of a how a local pub should be. Sad to to say since the makeover it is has become a model of how a pub should NOT be; largely thanks to the new landlord. He is very rude and agressive and seems to encouage his staff copy his attitude. All in all a hostile and unwelcoming place. Traditional customers have all but gone away but not replaced and it was sad to note a near empty pub the weekend before xmas where a year before it was packed.

I fear the Griffin may become another pub statistic which is very sad because there are plenty of punters who would love to go in but wont unless there is a regime change. I hope some at Holts recognizes the situation and sorts it out before it is too late.
