The George, Oundle

Visited on a Thursday lunch time for something to eat.
Sat out in the sunshine on the beautiful decking area.
My wife had the special 2 course for �10, the landlord advised us that they would not be very large portions. My wife's pate starter arrived and her comment was "if that's a small portion I don't want to see a large one".
She had the steak pie which she really liked, it might have been a smaller portion but it was packed with meat and the pastry was lovely. My wife eat both courses and said that the portion size was just right as she could not eat anymore.
I had a fishermans pie which was excellent, I am not a keen fish person but I really liked it.
I had a pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord, I had such a relaxing time and enjoyed myself so much that I had to have another pint.

P.S. I will be taking my family back some Friday for the �5 home made fish, chips and mushy peas, I will post a reply to let you know how we get on
