re Publican2 - so all the customers are wrong and you're right!! shows the arrogance up nicely i think.Our friends had arrived well before us without any mention of closing early at all. they ordered drinks only for the music to be promptly turned off and the lights turned off afterwards. Yes their were drivers - we came because someone (mistakenly) recommended you to us. Never again. As for drinks correct me if I am wrong but there were 8 of us and only two drivers, passenegrs are allowed to drink still I think!

The Britannia Inn, Dungeness

Comfortably the worst pub I have been to for welcome and hospitality. We (8 people) were greeted at 9:15pm on a wednesday evening at the height of the saeason with " we are closing in 15 minutes". We ordered drinks but were made to feel most unwelcome with the lights patially turned off and the bar staff cleaning the bar and generally closing down. When we left we pointed out that the door stated that they were open till 11pm onluy for the (presumed) owner to get shirty with us. Certainly the most unwelcome I have ever been made in any pub in the 42 years since I have been legally allowed to drink!!!! I will never go back there despite only living 4 miles away and my friends from Oxford were unimpressed and I was made to feel deeply embarassed with the welcome given by Romney Marsh people to visitors to the area.
