I really like this pub which serves belting beer and has a gorgeous smelling restaurant upstairs.
Things to go for
Pitch Porter (House beer) dark and lovely
Black Cat Mild made by Moorhouses
Or even better a pint of both mixed together as 'Pitch Black'

The Captain Cook, Staithes

Wow!

What a find. I needed a place to stopover when doing the Cleveland Way in Staithes and faced twee BnBs....yek! What I got was this

Real ale house serving superb beers tucked in at the top of the hill at Staithes.

Splendid place to stay over night in and scrumptious food add to the beer and the really nice welcome to make this the only decent ale house for miles around.

Served a mixture of 5 real ales and a handpull cider...with the wall covered in the hundreds of real ales served up by the staff who are passionate about their beer. I had the Hambleton Bitter from Swale when I was there which was kept in beautiful condition by Trevor the real ale champion whose pub it is.

The beer is kept in tip top condition here by people whose pride it is to do so.

Go there when you can to drink sup eat stay whatever...just get there
