Decided to meet some other guys (8 of us in total) here as we were travelling out of Paddington for a weekend away. I'd read reviews for other pubs around Paddington and thought the Cleveland sounded a good option.
Really glad we did! This is what I regard as a REAL pub, good beer, easy going, varied clientele and great food. At first I was a little worried because the kitchen seemed to comprise just a toaster and a couple of microwaves but when our food was served what a surprise. We had varying meals from toasted sandwiches to Kashmiri Chicken. I can say the Kashmiri Chicken was one of the best curries I've tasted - and for less than a fiver.
Down side? The Sussex we had needed to be changed and the new barrel really was not in top condition. Not bad, just not top. Dumb I know but we didn't tell the bar staff; we just switched to Brains which turned out to be a good move.
We had several beers over a very pleasant couple of hours that were enjoyed in overall good company.
One post mentions it has a "seedy, ale house feel" which I find strange because quite simply it's a real pub; no plastic "tudor beams" in sight. Perfect.
Overall, if this pub was in my village, I think I'd move in....

The Crown Inn, Linton
In an area with quite alot of competition, this pub stands out from the rest.
I use the pub and restaurant for business entertaining simply because you can be guaranteed excellent service and food. Also, I have a number of international visitors who all love the atmosphere, the friendliness of staff and customers alike as well as the range of beers (lagers and ales).
All in all an excellent place for lunch, dinner or just a drink.
I have a guest that will be using the accommodation soon. I'll update on that to see if it lives up to the rest of the pub.
