The Farmers Inn, West Hatch

Not been for a while but know many who have and it has an excellent reputation.

Ignore the comment below about beer quality - there is noproblem with it.

Not somewhere to go just for a drink though as it's an eating pub so no free un-boked seats. Also, i've always felt the bar is too low to comfortably lean on.

The Square and Compass, Ashill

The Square has lots of unlikely acts playing in "the Barn" behond the pub - including Hazel O'Connor a couple of years ago.

'Propsering' seems a goodword to describe the pub these days, with an expanded kitchen and new outdoor covered seating area. The food is very good and a good range. The beer is good and always includes Somerset stalwart Exmoor Ale.

The Halfway House, Pitney

hould also note that the Halway House is one of the pitifully few pubs in somerset that sells rough cider, including Heck's from Street.
