The Little Brown Jug, Chiddingstone Causeway
Huge pub but still packed at 5-6pm on a Sunday. Massive garden, very noisy inside - kids and music. Average beer - Larkins and Abbot and a Timothy Taylor that wasn't 'Landlord'. Serves food noon to 9pm Sundays, which is useful, as there seems to be a scarcity of decent pubs around here. Handy for Penshurst station too.

Stopped here whilst out walking on a Sunday lunchtime. Good beer - Harveys and Larkins, nice old pub, nice garden, food looked good but we weren't eating - will do next time. Lots of tweed jackets around but that may have been the coach & horse fair on locally. Quite busy and rightly so.

The Setting Sun, Brighton
As I live on the same road, I can indeed confirm that this pub is still there (see below). Probably the best view in Brighton from a pub garden - you can see Worthing Pier on a clear day, 12 miles away. Friendly staff, two ales which change regularly, extensive menu, and reasonably busy most evenings - I should use it more often now I think of it!
