I suspect that sales rocket in the summer as people come here for the sunny, viewtastic outside space rather than the beer - which is pretty average in truth - but there's usually one or two ales on with Arundel's Sussex Gold a staple. plymouthpirate - 8 Jun 2014 11:23 |
As I live on the same road, I can indeed confirm that this pub is still there (see below). Probably the best view in Brighton from a pub garden - you can see Worthing Pier on a clear day, 12 miles away. Friendly staff, two ales which change regularly, extensive menu, and reasonably busy most evenings - I should use it more often now I think of it! TheHerbalist - 22 Apr 2013 15:18 |
Worth toiling up the hill for the view. Beer was very good. It was very quiet when we turned up so no problems with service. The 'beer garden' is pretty spartan: the pub owner could make a lot more of this given the sea views. And I was alarmed at the outside electric heater being so close to the uPVC bathroom window. This had a bad scorch mark on it. Surely the heater could be moved or disconnected (maybe it has been - let's hope so). Hope the place is still there next year and not a smoking ruin! Go here a lot as my girlfriend lives on same road. Had a face lift and well needed, staff are brilliant and very helpfull and chatty. Not had a meal in a while but went i did was excellent and good value. Best view from a pub in the city and good stone throw from town, infact lots of sea in the view. gastropublover - 9 Oct 2008 16:40 |
