The Mermaid Inn, Wolverhampton

Went here for lunch with a group of friends as the place has long had a decent reputation locally. Food was overpriced for what it was, with the choices for non-meat eaters being significantly underwhelming (never heard of a veggie burger as a light bite?)

Wine was served in a dirty glass - these things happen but the server had held the glass up to the light quite deliberately and looked closely at it, yet still passed it over. Mix up by the staff over desserts led to disappointment for one of our party.

All in all not a very good first impression and one which means we won't be going back.
