The Ribs of Beef, Norwich

Once a year the devoted spouse makes a pilgrimage back to Norwich to visit her uni haunts. I always let her go wandiering by herself so I can end up in the Ribs drinking about 7 halves of great ales and staring out at the river.

This pub has never disappointed.

The Clachan, Soho

Excellent pub. They really know their beer. Food not bad.

The upstairs is great place to get away from the suits which can occasionally pack it out.

The Square Tavern, Euston

Jeez, the mixed reviews alone meant I had to visit this pub.

Could it possibly be a lunch crowd v evening crown thing. I was there for lunch today and found it the best pub in the area. (The Royal George is better but it's the other side of Euston). And this is one day after the previous review.

It's a Young's pub and the Ramrod was delicious. The bartender was English born and bred and appeared to have no language problems. I sat outside but did not encounter a the wall of smoke other reviews warned about when I went to order. In fact the inside is rather nice.
