Since the management change and spruce up I have visited this pub regularly. The decor is vastly improved and the new larger dining room is regularly busy. The owners and bar staff are very welcoming and the atmosphere is relaxing.
Importantly the beer on tap is in excellent condition, Hall and Woodhouses' Badger beers. The wine selection is good and very quaff able.
The food is of excellent quality, the menu is pretty traditional English pub fayre and there's always a range of specials on. I can guarantee you will not leave hungry!

A good pub with nice beer, the selection of pies on the menu looked good too, sadly I'd just eaten.
Good atmosphere, well worth a visit.
Not sure what day FattusBlokus visited but when I visited there was a polish barman who served everyone at the bar and a blonde haired guy who stood behind the bar contemplating his navel for an hour.
Will definitely be back to try out the pies and search for the heavenly landlady.

The Talbot Inn, Cuckfield
The Talbot is a pub of two halves, downstairs has had a makeover and is quite pleasant to sit in and drink beer these days, upstairs is the large TV and games room with darts and pool. There is a smaller TV downstairs also.
The bar selection is good, though I find some of the Dark Star beers a little like treacle, the Harveys is good.
Food is reasonable.
In winter there's a nice roaring log fire to keep you warm whilst reading the Sunday paper.
