poetry on a thursday night is well worth a visit. pretty laid back opening hours (both opening and closing). lots of cheesey irish tunes to curdle the guinness on the juke box but if it's unpretentious joviality your after you cant find a better pub for miles.

right beside the bus station you can get served here from early am. other than that its pretty grim.

The White Hart, Headington

both bar staff couldn't pour a pint of Guinness, one didnt know what was in a bloody mary and served me a frozen cheese sandwich, ug. went back 2 months later and still got an horrifically sloppy pint with the inside of the glass smeared with unrinsed detergent and other people's lip smudges on the rim. such a shame it would appear that the management do not see fit to train their staff properly because despite the poor service the setting, interior, clientele and beer garden are all above the standards to be found anywhere else in headington.
