Green Dragon Inn, Monmouth

An Oldie Worldly pub. Friendly landlady Margaret and her staff always make you feel welcome.
I have been going to this pub for the last ten years, most weekends between April and November to use as a stop for coach trips going through to the Brecon Beacons. I can honestly say that you cannot get a better Full English Breakfast to include your tea & coffee for miles. Pub grub in the evening is good & reasonably priced.
Beer is good too. Excellent service from staff always happy to help. Locals friendly too.

The Bull and Butcher, Corley Moor

This pub is in a great location with country side views, great facilities in the garden for families and couples alike. Lots of parking. Was very busy Sunday dinner time so must be popular, a good sign we thought.
Ordered a Sunday Carvery. Carvery was disgusting!! Vegetables all soggy, cauliflower grey looking, mashed potatoes watery, roast potatoes almost black were soft and oozing with grease, turkey and beef very dry, however Yorkshire pudding nice.
Staff very friendly, when complained took comments on board and told management and kitchen. However management never came to see us, just walked by. Nothing more was said. We did not finish our meal and came home hungry and out of pocket. Went to supermarket to get something to eat instead!
Very disappointing as only 18 months ago had a great Sunday dinner. What has happened.....Now one to miss! Call in Gordon Ramsey
