The Red Lion, Radlett

I popped back to the Red Lion with family this weekend and was welcomed by a wonderful roaring fire which was needed as it was a very cold day.

There was 5 of us and 2 large dogs. We were all made welcome and they provided water and lots of fuss for the dogs. 2 of our party were vegetarian and were happy with the choices and the rest of us had either burger, steak or pie.

The service at the bar was friendly and fast and the food was great. The burger was fantastic and was one of the best burgers I've had. My brother had the pie and said it was fabulous.

We were there for nearly 3 hours and the pub was fairly quiet to start but got quite busy. My brothers tried the real ale and said it was very good.

This is one of my favourite pubs and it keeps on getting better. Great food and service, dog friendly and a real fire - perfect!

White Horse, Chorleywood

I Searched online for dog friendly pubs and this one came up as an option. I rang to book a table for Sunday lunch (with a dog) and the service on the phone was very good.

When we arrived the pub was full (no drinkers, just diners) and we ordered roast dinners (9.95 each) and they were lovely (but not hot enough!). Great quality food, cooked well and plenty of it. My hubby said the real ale was very good and my dog appreciated the toys and water provided. A friendly member of staff also came over with doggie treats. In fact all the staff were friendly.

The toilets were very cold though and in need of some minor repairs but were clean and well stocked. There was a big roaring fire and every table was either full or reserved.

Definitely worth the visit and we'll be back.

The Red Lion, Radlett

Ive just been back to the newly spruced up Red Lion and its great! One thing I loved was the lampshades... about 30 different styles. Unusual and not the standard run of your mill pub make over.

The new decor is quirky and fun and I like that they've opened it all up. I stayed for a meal - only just though, as it was so busy on Sunday. I had the traditional roast and it was lovely - came with a whopping big proper Yorkshire Pudding and lovely gravy.

They must have a new chef as there was lots of lovely dessert choices but no chocolate! Come on - give us some chocolate puddings! My sister had the risotto and said it was great. I booked for Mothers Day and it was nearly full already.

The Manager is the same and even though they were busy, I got good service.
