The Princess of Shoreditch, Old Street

This place has changed hands recently, and improved a lot. The loos have been refurbished and are now fine. The bar food menu has been slimmed down but is still decent. The food upstairs used to be very good indeed, but I haven't eaten there since the change so I shouldn't comment. They serve well-kept Timothy Taylors and London Pride and the wine is decent too. The staff are attentive and know what they're doing and the ratio to drinkers is much improved too. I think this is one of the best pubs in the area, with an acceptable balance of suits and too cool for school Hoxtonites.
