What a great venue, I've been here a few times and drank at the bar. Staff are fantastic and the selection of local beers is something to be proud of. We didn't eat but the food coming out looked amazing so I will be back to sample this... A great find! KettleChip - 29 Mar 2013 10:22 |
It's really a restaurant not a pub but lovely decor inside, good wine list and the barstaff were helpful and friendly. fancyatipple - 19 Nov 2011 22:44 |
Walked past this pub yesterday; It looks to have been renamed The Princess of Shoreditch for some reason. Certainly looked like a restaurant to me. RexRattus - 10 Dec 2009 16:05 |
Any good beer quality - and it was good, Meantime and Sambrook beers - very local - is negated by the chilly attitude of this pub. Hardly any of the old interior remains, a Trumans window above one door and some of the stained glass seems to be all. I went in there at six intending to eat and was told they didn't do food until 8.30. Returning to rejoin the group I was with, there were 25 of us and we put a considerable amount of money across the bar, but the management didn't seem overenthusiastic about us. The third beer is Tring Side Pocket for a Toad which is unusual to find in a pub in London, but this place is still really a restaurant. rainlight - 10 Dec 2009 07:59 |
This place has gone fully gastro - all the tables were set for meals when I went in leaving the drinker stuck with three or four stools at the bar. The doorway greeting by one of the staff was further confirmation that this place sees itself as an eatery rather than a pub. All that said the interior was ok and there were three reasonably interesting beers on tap - Wandle, a locally brewed London Pale Ale and a beer from the Tring brewery with a complicated name (Slide in the Pocket?) Peroni however was north of 4 quid a pint and the focus on food means it's unlikely I'll ever return here and I can't really recommend it for drinkers. murgatroyd - 9 Nov 2009 16:18 |
