The Hurt Arms, Ambergate

Previous reviews were fair. - This place WAS a dump. However a year or so back it was taken over and shut whilst major open-heart renovation was carried out. Now it's very up-market: Decor arty - sumptious even. Service very good: attentive, smiley staff who appear well-trained.
Main thing though is the food; good basics - Fish & chips, pies etc. but also internationl options - French, Mexican. I have been there several times and our group rated it very highly. Not the cheapest place around but good value for the standard.
