The Tigers Head, Chislehurst

I've been eating and drinking in the Tiger's Head for over 12 years and it's had its ups and downs like most pubs. However, over the last year or so and under new management, the pub is now better than ever. The food (inside, the pub is predominantly restaurant) is consistently of a very high standard with a main menu of indispensable pub classics, a good fish selection and lots more but there's also a great "specials" menu. The staff are very helpful and one or two in particular are superb waitors. The patio garden is reasonably large and secluded with a variety of different shrubs and colourful window box/potted displays. When I was in there last week there was some excellent live music from a jazzy acoustic duo singing and playing double bass and acoustic guitar. I would have once written a bad review for this pub but, be assured, some of these previous reviews are outdated. OH! And I didn't mention the drinks! What am I thinking?? Of course there is a wine menu to suit all tastes and always a few ales on draft including at least one "guest" ale (currently Old Peculiar). A lot of pubs in the area have gone downhill in recent years but it's reassuring to see this one finally making a comeback as a PROPER pub. I hope the current management hang around!
