Ye Olde Nags Head, Castleton

The Olde Nags Head is professionally presented in the net BUT did not meet up to our expectations on arrival. Young man on reception who constantly sniffed rather than clearing his nose was the start, waiters walked around with their shirts hanging out .. !! Our room (Castleton) looked super on the web-page and was described along the line of LUXURIOUS (certainly on the boards in front of hotel). Anyway, this was a tatty, uncared for room. Carpets and windows rotting, old/non-functional furniture (scratched and rusty mirror, wardrobe door did not close - and wardrobe had no bottom to it!). There was a HUGE hole in the wall behind the chest of drawers which was a bit frightening. The spa-bath sounded great on their webpage but the jets were rusty and old and the look of the sealing (ie no sealing) around the base of the jacuzzi was less than appealing. We did NOT use! The bathroom windows didn�t open. The list of negatives was never ending. We complained. Have heard nothing til to date - so that just about sums it up. A real con. Do NOT get your hopes up re this hotel. We did and were very disappointed.
