The Church Inn, Cheadle Hulme

I have fond memories of this pub but I'm afraid that three visits in the last couple of years have shown a pattern. This is a locals pub & the girls working behind the bar are more interested in talking with their mates than serving anybody else. Not the best pint of Unicorn Bitter either if that's what it was.

The White Lion Hotel, Castlefield

I had a bad experience here last Summer. It’s a pub I’ve liked for years & with my girlfriend stopped for a quick pint on a sunny late afternoon. Got our beers & sat at trestle table outside. It promptly toppled backwards so we were flat on our backs, shaken up & covered with beer. I went inside to report the incident & the landlady wasn’t at all sympathetic or interested. I pointed out that several couples were sitting on the same side of similar tables to watch sport on TV so there was obviously something wrong with this table. “Nothing I can do about it” was her response. Didn’t even offer a replacement drink. Disgraceful. Avoid this pub.
