It was nice to go somewhere and feel like we weren't being overrun with 17 year olds..
..Again, a battle to get a seat so I would recommend trying to book if you want to make a night of it.

However, the Barman was rude and/or stupid - when asked to top up the beer rather than the masses of foam, he patronisingly pumped a little more (without holding the glass properly, doubling the foam) telling us there was 'meant to be 2 fingers' worth...yes, but only in a glass that allows room for it, and not half a pints worth!

Wouldn't go again.

The Five and Lime, Guildford

Went here on a Saturday night and it was very busy, we did manage to find a seat but all felt a bit like sardines...as with anywhere on a Saturday night, I suppose!

Cocktails were very nice and well made, the barmaids were very cheerful and service was quick despite the business.

Wasn't too loud in there either, unlike some of the other bars that are trying to be clubs without the dancefloor (HaHa?).

Didn't spend a lot of time out there but the smoking patio was large, seemed to be heated and was playing some great music!

I agree that drinks are a bit pricey, but you'll find that most places sell pints of shandy at the same price as the normal pint (that and just a lemonade alone is costing more than �2.20 a pint these days) - if I stopped going to pubs because I was unhappy with the prices I'd just stay in with my Tesco's Crate!

The food has always been great here, not cheap but that's because you're getting good quality resturant-esq food and not wetherspoons re-heated ready meals.

Also, they have some great live music which is often hard to come by without having to go all the way to Guildford.

I agree it's definitely more of a Local Pub for Local People, though - it's just good to be one of 'em!
