A big pub inside with a large car parking area. Front overlooks an impressive church. Exposed brick, inglenook fireplaces and "muskets" hanging from the Oak beams.
Adnams Bitter tasted here at (I think) 2.60 a pint. Broadside also on at around 3.00. Quite a long list on the chalk board menu.
Comfortable place.

29 August evening visit.
Clean Pub. Good Toilets. Offerings: Adnams Bitter 2.60, Explorer 2.85 and Broadside at 2.95. Small Bar area is is bit tight. A small adjoining room is kept as a separate eating area.
Tasted Ad Biiter - very nice condition. Explorer OK, but losing fizz.
There is a garden with tables, but not useful this late in the year as it was already dardk when we arrived. Try it on the longest day....

The Lord Nelson Inn, Holton
Visited on the evening of 29 August 22:00.
Long Bar with high ceilings. Pool area (balls not water)with small bar and a longer bar past the central fireplace stack. Lots of wood beams - mostly structural rather than showily "distressed".
Pub was licensed until 12:00, didn't find this out until asking for a takeaway though. Someone's 40th underway so quite well attended.
Steely Dan on the CD player.
Adnams real Ales.
