The Shoulder of Mutton Inn, Mytholmroyd

Interesting place. It had an overwhelming smell of fried things when I visited but the beer was great. Landlord and Black Sheep seem to be standard and they were also serving Cragg Vale Bitter (Little Valley Brewery) and Golden Salamander. I hear it does good, cheap food and the pub quiz can be a little "local" in terms of if you are allowed to win or not. I'm plucking up the courage to go back when it might be busy.

The Maltings, York

Excellent beer on a hot afternoon. A good mix of locals and foreign tourists, all drinking the real ale. The man on the next table rated the chilli as "Take your head off" and his chips looked yummy. They sell a lot of fruit wine although I've never seen anyone actually drinking it. Check out the doors on the ceiling...
