The Canbury Arms, Kingston Upon Thames

We were looked at with horror when we only wanted drinks and we were made to sit in the covered outside area although it wasn't busy inside. Very peculiar for a pub.
I wouldn't go back, it made no attempt to be welcoming at all and there are plenty of other pubs that ARE happy to serve drinks in the area.

The Plough, Coldharbour

After a long walk (and admittedly getting very lost!) we stumbled upon this pub and were relieved to read the menu board which sounded great although pricey.

However, we were barely halfway through our drinks when the landlady had already been incredibly unpleasent and rude to TWO different groups of people and we simply didn't want to stay there and give them our custom. She seems to unaware of the meaning of the word hospitality and didn't seem at all suited to the role of country village landlady.

I won't go back. Expensive and they don't deserve my money.

The Star, Dorking

A superb pub. Very small but friendly and relaxed. There's lots happening if you want it (films, open mic nights, vinyl nights, quizzes etc) or its just a great place for a pint on a big leather sofa by a fire.
It's nice to be in a pub that's trying to offer something more.
