Have been here for sunday lunch about a year ago, and was happy enough with what we had then, roast chicken was HALF a chicken served with all the usual. This time we sat in the extension, couldn't help but notice the constant buzz of the microwave from the kitchen(why would anyone need to use a microwave for a 'homecooked' sunday roast???? The portion of meat was no where near as generous as last time(previous tenants) the veg was soft and watery, and gravy was like brown dish water. The spuds and yorkshire were ok.
There are other pubs in the area doing a much better version at a better deal too, and they are not showing football while you are trying to eat a roast dinner either!!
People should be warned of this before they turn up!!

If you haven't visited this pub for a while, i am sure you will be impressed with all the changes taken place. There is a good varied choice of drinks available, its not the same old drinks all the time. To be honest, i do think that the food menu could be improved, but the prices are very reasonable and everything that i have sampled so far has been ok, just wish there was a bit more of a choice. The decor is lovely, and also the courtyard garden is lovely too. Another bonus has to be the fact that it is open lunchtime onwards everyday, and they open Monday evenings for food too, not many places in the area open Mondays.

Tried the new carvery here a couple of weekends ago, for a small country pub it was great. Choice of 3 different meats, the roast potatoes were fab(could of done with a second choice of potato though,ie,boiled potatoes or mash) HUGE yorkshire puds and a good choice of desserts, both courses for under a tenner too!
