The Old Inn, Carbost

Recently happend upon this pub whilst staying on Skye, and then returned another 2 times the food was so good! The beer and location weren't bad either! The food though was very very good, tasty, fresh, well cooked and despite being really busy was served in a very timely fashion! Can thoroughly recommend it!

The Cyder House Inn, Shackleford

This is my local and although it's more gastropub than "local" it is still a great improvement than what was here before. The food is consistently good and always tasty, can recommend the salt and pepper squid! They are also making a real effort with the cider and ales too. Finally I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful.

The Squirrel at Hurtmore, Hurtmore

I must admit that I have only visited once since the pub has been re-opened but I had a lovely meal, the food was great although not cheap, but to be honest where is around here anymore? I had the steak, which was great, flavoured and tender and cooked just how I asked. There were many ales on offer and the staff were friendly. So I would suggest to go and make your own mind up!

The Cyder House Inn, Shackleford

I think as a Shackleford local I can safely say that this pub has vastly improved since it was taken over. The food and atmosphere is now much better than before, although the beer could be better.
It's a shame though that personal vendettas can't be kept off the boards - and if the landlord is posting then I'm not surprised, the pub's current rating does not reflect the new Cyder House!
