The Rose and Crown, Tooting Bec

I disagree about the real ale - they do a great pint of Flowers Original

The Fox and Grapes, Wimbledon Common

Nice little pub with good real ale and wine list. Had a decent Sunday roast. Staff are very friendly

The Leather Bottle, Wimbledon Chase

Decent boozer-type pub - fun quiz on a Thursday night, dreadful karaoke on a Friday. 2 pool tables where you can usually get a game

Hideaway, South Wimbledon

This place has a friendly cosy atmosphere, great staff and the food was excellent (the main menu rather than the bar snacks which were very average).

There's a restaurant bit at the back which often feels quite empty but you can have the proper menu in the front too - 2 courses for 11 which was very reasonable given the quality and size of portions.

The Hope, Wandsworth Common

Really gone down hill recently - shame because has so much potential.....but when it regularly takes over 20 minutes to get served by clueless bar staff, there are better places to go.

The +Venture, Balham

Great music, fantastic value in happy hour, lovely chatty staff - amazing it's not more busy in the week

The Lion And Lobster, Brighton

A proper pub with a good range of beers, a cozy atmosphere and great jazz on a Sunday night - good late licensing hours too

The Northcote, Clapham Junction

Not a bad pub and a change from all the samey bars. It's just a real shame that they are incapable of serving cold bottles of beer - they need a new fridge system

The Fine Line, Clapham Junction

Same old chainy type place. Very loud. The bar staff and bouncers are extremely aggressive and it takes forever to get served.

Prince Arthur, Euston

I had to meet someone near Euston so used Beerintheevening for a recommendation and this one came up.

I generally had low expectations of a pub opposite the station but I was so pleasantly surprised. On the face of it, it is just a traditional boozer with slightly shabby decor. The difference was the way we were treated - the staff were lovely and bought drinks to our table. The beer was well kept and they had a selection of great ales (Flowers, Pride, Greene King). The food was the standard pub thai stuff, very pleasant and again nicely served.

The place was nicely full on a Tuesday and the local ladies darts team was even playing. This is a prime example of a good old fashioned boozer that just offers that little bit extra.
