The Travellers Rest, Dunstable
Poor food, so don't eat here! Probably cooked by teenagers judging by the standard - in microwaves! However, there's a good range of drinks priced very reasonably and the decor is very nice. Cosy in the winter, especially when the fire is going. Small garden at the front with views of the downs, but as this pub is situated on a busy junction, probably not the most relaxing location to enjoy a pint.

The Three Locks, Stoke Hammond
Beautifully refurbed and great location on the canal, but I think the food could be better. Having eaten here a few times in the last 6 months, I have decided not to bother again! Great for a drink though.

Caldecotte Arms, Milton Keynes
I agree with the previous review - this place looks nice, but the service is dire. My partner waited half an hour to get served and then we waited a further hour for what turned out to be an appalling meal! Many places are offering deals like '2 for 10' and I don't expect amazing quality, but this meal was inedible. My meat was so dry I could barely swallow it and because they were so slow, I couldn't be bothered to complain! Terrible place - AVOID!!!

Been several times for a drink - everytime there are a bunch of noisey yummy mummies and daddies supping gallons of wine at the front of the pub and their a brood of children with names like Sebastian who are all are bored and misbehaving. At the bar, you'll find the local labourers - early evening they are ok, but later, they are pretty loud as well. This is not a quiet pub, so do not go there for a quiet drink. However the atmosphere is buzzing (if you like that kind of noise) and the decor is nice if not a little run-down,

The Eagle And Child, Stow On The Wold
Menu was too limited in my opinion - only about 7 options for main courses. Tiny portions and very overpriced, you will need all 3 courses. However, staff are polite and decor is nice (old pub with nice features with a sleek modern conservatory). I was not really impressed with this place, but I had already read some bad reviews and was made to go there by my father-in-law despite warning him about what I had read.

The Olde Green Man, Little Brickhill
This is a great pub - gorgeous decor and great day or night. Nice bar area with comfy leather seats and attarctive restaurant. Food is very good - my stepdad is a fussy chef and he was very impressed! Slightly pricey, but worth it. Pretty good choice of drinks available, various lagers, wines and spirits, but not sure about ales? Well worth a visit in my opinion.

The Five Bells, Stanbridge
Beautiful quaint old cosy pub set on a quiet road. The main bar area is set in the original part of the building and is crammed with rustic beams (some of which are a bit low, so mind your head!), old floorboards and usually a few old locals as well - many of whom bring their dogs. However, there's a nice atmosphere, you won't feel unwelcome.
This pub was refurbished a couple of years back, and they have a done a good job with the decor, as it has a slightly contemporary feel to it. The restaurant is also very nice and whilst the food is on the expensive side (starters are on average 5.00, mains 12), the quality is usually very good and the service has been great every time I've eaten here. The drinks are also pretty pricey, but if you like the surroundings, it's worth it - I hate pubs full of noisy youngsters and you certainly won't find any here!
