Great landlord. Welcoming without being over bearing. Keeps great beer and always serves in the 'appropriate' glass. Well worth a visit.

The Waterloo Arms, Freemantle

Fantastic Hopback pub. Good old fashioned atmosphere. Food could be improved, but the beer more than makes up for it.

The Guide Dog, Bevois Valley

You won't get better real ale anywhere in Southampton. Pub itself is a bit small but is welcoming.

The Anchor Inn, Totton

Terrible. Smells like a fast food outlet. 'Staff Table' which seems to dominate the public bar area. Poor ale but does serve enormous meals that look better than they taste. Give this a miss.

The King Rufus, Eling

Usually has 4 real ales. Always Ringwood (can't have everything) and 3 guest ales. Worth a visit. Welcoming atmosphere
