Recently re-opened under the stewardship of new owners Ray & Philipa Goold, as a pub,tea room and gallery. The decor is light and airy and decorated with the landlady's paintings. She also painted the new pub sign. Hours are Thursday to Sunday 11am to 3:30pm and 6pm to 10:30pm, closed Monday to Wednesday. Serving Shepherd Neame beers with Whitstable Bay and Spitfire Gold on hand pump. When I visited there was only tea and cakes offered in the way of food, but as the venture progresses the plan is to sell a wider range. The garden, in the rear, is currently a 'work in progress' , with recently constructed raised beds. jbsjazzer - 6 Jul 2016 14:00 |
The King Rufus shut several months ago.... The nearby Village Bells also closed and is now a house. The Anchor in Eling shut for a short period and is now open again & very nice too. Surreysmyler - 8 Nov 2015 10:10 |
Visited in March (bit slow on updating my reviews!) - this is a nice traditional boozer. There were not many people in there this Sunday lunchtime. Friendly landlord, nice layout, I had a few pints of a Hydes of Manchester seasonal beer in good condition. There is another pub directly opposite! 7/10. Old_King_Cole - 25 Jul 2011 20:51 |
