White Horse Inn, Rogate

First time I have been to this pub yesterday and the Harvey's Old was beautiful, and the Tuna Steak very enjoyable. Nice atmosphere.

The Duke of Cumberland, Henley

Yes, it is a lovely pub, however, we got there at 13.51 on a Saturday and they would not serve us food as they were too busy. The local beer was great, and the area is beautiful. The local chatter was about deals and that included the children. Best deal is to have a picnic and then go to the pub.

The Castle Inn, Chiddingstone

Some of the reviews leave me wondering whether this is the same pub that I went to yesterday. Friendly, yes, excellent Larkins Porter, yes, nice pub, yes. However, I ordered a meal that turned out to be a medium sized cheese roll that I had to make up myself for �9.10. Yes, it was goats cheese, and I do not know the price of goats cheese however it must be like a bar of gold. Eat here with great care.

The Railway Arms, Alton

I have been here on many occasions over the years, and the beer quality is so good and the ales so varied, as I think the FFF range is amost second to none. I rate this about the best beer pub I know (and I have been to a lot) second perhaps to none. Second maybe to the Square and Compass in Dorset, however, that is half a cider house and half a beer pub. Although the Railway does real cider. It is also a nice pub, right by the station and the Real Ale Train on the Watercress Line.

Old Crown, Weybridge

I visited this pub yesterday (Sunday) with some friends and it was a very good experience. The food was exceptionally tasty, good value haddock and veg/salad, the Greene King Mild a joy and the service very good indeed.

Miller of Mansfield, Goring

The food that I had is possibly the worst value that I have had almost anywhere. Coconut spinach sauce and rice was just that a small portion of rice and sauce no substance to it, for �11.95. Beer and service and general ambience was very good indeed. However, if you want a pretty meal, ok, if you are hungry, be warned.
