Appalling service, bland food, do not go!
Ordered a diet coke (hey, it was lunchtime) and was given pepsi instead. Ordered Cajun chicken, chips and dip, got a chicken breast with spices sprinkled on it and no dip. The chef was behind the bar and had to be shown the menu before he believed that the dip was included. The original barmaid said it was the chef's fault and she didn't care as she was leaving in a few days.
Decoration was very dated, too many machines, hand drier in gents not working and hot tap was jammed on.
Go elsewhere I say!

Ordered a Homemade Burger today with baby tomatoes and mozarella. I got reheated chips, a Tesco's value bun, 2 slices of 'normal' tomatoe, bland cheese that was more cheddar than anything! Service was slow. A generous THREE from me!

Was great when run as a brewery until the son took it over. Then it went downhill...
Had a meal there recently (under the new tenants) - not bad but a bit pricey!

The Half Moon Inn, Plumpton
2008 - under new management. They're trying to up the image (not hard when you remember how the last lot had run it down!) so early days yet...
Food is good but too expensive - there is very little affordable food for walkers at lunchtime and, unless this changes, it could be their undoing.
Suggestion: Offer food more suitable for walkers at lunchtime (sarnies, ploughmans etc) and cheaper options in the evenings for those who don't want to spend �50 for a meal for two with drinks!
