A great sadness to me that this pub has lost its way. Back in the day it was run by a professional landlord and grouch, called George. The Barley Mow was an institution and he was an awesome landlord, although I did not truly appreciate that back then. When I lived in the USA, I dreamt of returning to this pub and when I landed at Heathrow I would make a beeline straight to Tilford - I was never let down. The pub is now like a 'club' for the up themselves barstaff and their cronies. Beer and atmosphere not a patch on what this place once was. Get it back, please!!!

A truly great pub run by an awesome landlady who supports Arsenal - can't be perfect! The pub is tucked away along winding Hampshire lanes cut through rolling hills. Worth the trek. Great ales on tap, including guest beers. The menu is huge and does not disappoint - you can chance a table, but good idea to book for a meal. The barstaff are the cheerful, smiling and like what they do! A serendipitous find - I almost want to keep this a secret...

The Zetland Arms, South Kensington
Unquestionably the worst pub I have ever been to. Its just the smell. I like a good dive bar or pub, but this boozer is a veritable cesspit. It was my brother's birthday last night and I was filled with dread when he said we would all assemble in the Zetland. Yes, the pub still smells of silage and the beer is flat and grim. Should be a helath warning on this pub. Avoid.

A really great boozer. Lovely, helpful, smiling staff. Good food. Really nice vibe to the place and great interior. Have had some good times here with my pals. Don't change a winning formula!

This used to be a decent pub when it was called the Front Page. It is now quite a horrific place, full of the worst type of braying City types eating expensive pub grub. Ok if you like that sort of thing.

The Chelsea Ram, Chelsea
My girlfriend introduced me to the Ram...I was quite annoyed, as I like to be the finder of good boozers. The staff are always chirpy, convivial and really understand how to run a strong, pacey bar. I do not understand the tosh comment either - I have always been more than happy with the food, and I like the fact that I can grab Peroni on tap, in addition to the well kept Youngs and occasional guest beer. A bit Sloaney, but come on, what do you expect! Great pub, nice punters, lovely staff, decent grub...look forward to popping in again soon.
