Lovely pub in a pleasant setting (we often go on a good dog walk starting from the car park for 2 miles in a loop through countryside back to the green). Sunday roast is a winner, and the evening menu (big blackboard as you walk in) has lots of tempting options! Took me several minutes to choose... One fish dish was overly greasy but otherwise pretty reliable.

We've been here a few times now, and the food is always great. Puds were a bit ordinary, but the steaks are fab, and come on a huge plate with all the trimmings.
Pub itself is very nicely fitted out, beers & ciders are well kept and the staff were all friendly and helpful. 8/10.

I really wanted to like this little place, all the reviews said it was fantastic and I really like good food.
We went there in the summer 2008, I had a Spanish omelette, the omelette itself was ok but it was swimming in grease, so much so that it really ruined the experience.
We decided to give it another go as we had some friends over for the weekend. We had the following
Starters:
Potted shrimps 8 - Ok but very tiny portion.
Smoked Salmon with avocado 8 - nice but quite plain as no dressing on salad
Cream of Courgette soup 5 - very nice
Main course:
Paella 19 - OK, slightly bland and a shame it didnt contain any chorizo.
Venison with port sauce 19 - very small portion, served with dauphinoise potatoes, fennel and pak choi.
Cod with garlic mayonnaise, sultanas and spinach 19 - Very good, again served with dauphinoise potatoes, fennel and pak choi.
Spanish Roast Lamb 19 - Plate arrived with tiny piece of plain roast lamb which was nicely soft but also dry. With the same accompaniments as above.
We also had deserts but I wont bore you with them, they were very good. Each cost 5.50.
Basically the food was OK, very rustic but VERY overpriced. If I only paid 12ish for the mains and 5 for the starters it would be fine.
Recommended only if you have money to burn.

Lovely place, only recently opened, good atmosphere. Great food, I had smoked salmon, steak and ice cream, hubbie had pate, steak and ginger pudding, all exceptional. Only dissapointment is the dessert menu. Ginger pudding and sticky toffee pudding in Summer? also ice cream is shop bought. More interesting puddings please. Prices are good too, sausage and mash 9, rib eye steak with pepper sauce 14.
